POWER OUTPUT OF PV SYSTEMS

- THE FIRST MONTH OPERATION RESULTS -

The new PV facilities were opend officially at the completion ceremony at 11th May 2004, while each newly installed PV system has been gradually connected to AIST's local grid and tested since April. No siginificant troubles were occured during the tests.

Table 1 lists the first month operation records. The typical daily trends of PV output and electric power demand in clear day are indicated in Figure 4. According to the PV output, time of the peak of demand were shifted from 13:30 to 16:00, and the peak decreased by 5%. The amount of output electricity was almost equivalent to our simulated value.

Table 1:
Performance records of the AIST new PV facilities (869 kWp) in May 2004

Output Electricity 82,230  kWh (26 days)
  Clear day 4,300  kWh/day
  Cloudy day 800  kWh/day

Maximum Output 794  kW (4th May)

Supply ratio to Demand 1.3  % (26 days)

 System Yield 3.69  hour/day (20 days)

 Performance Ratio 75.7  % (20 days)

- some data were lacked by outages during the routineinspection of electric equipment in AIST.
